about

Nocturnes are compositions of dreamy and romantic character suitable for evening recreation and are perfect for nighttime listening. This type of composition style has been around for a while and I wanted to try my hand at some solo piano pieces that were improvised and intentionally recorded in a minimalistic way, either on a cassette player or my phone.

There's something sacred to me about being alone in an old, redbrick house in the center of my town left alone with a piano for 15 minutes. Just getting lost in whatever melody or chord progression that feels right in the moment. Even though the piano may be old and out of tune, it still has a special sound to it that it has accumulated over the years. With all the imperfections, a pretty melody is still a pretty melody and it's just a small audio representation of just a small slice of time.

This is the first installment of what I intend to be a series of various solo piano pieces sporadically over my career. Just those simple moments of creation and playing, raw and real.
